About the event
An Introduction to Paediatric Dysphagia is for any SALT students and NQPs wanting to delve into the world of paediatric dysphagia.
We will provide you with an overview of all things paed dysphagia. Some of the topics we will cover include:
- Basic anatomy and physiology
- Assessment and intervention principles
- Different working environments and roles of a SALT in paediatric dysphagia
- MDT working
- How to make your application stand out
- Our journeys to paediatric dysphagia
Your Hosts:
Chelsea has worked within the field of paediatric dysphagia for 8 years across a range of settings including acute paediatric wards, community clinics and special schools. In addition to her work for Eat Chat Play, she overseas and manages the dysphagia provision for a large borough in Berkshire.
Savannah has worked in paediatric dysphagia for 9 years and has experience working across different countries including England, Wales, South Africa and Bangladesh. She has worked in various settings including community, schools, acute paediatric wards and neonatal units. She currently provides private feeding support at Learn to Feed alongside her NHS work. She is also a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
