Paediatric Dysphagia Case Study Groups

Are you a student, NQP, therapist new to dysphagia or just wanting to build your confidence? Do you want to build your clinical reasoning skills with real cases? Join our paediatric dysphagia case study groups to help you build confidence and learn how to put theory into practice.

About the event

Welcome to our case study groups, where theory meets practice! We have four case study groups happening this year (as below) with each group having it's own theme. We will bring some case studies along for discussion and facilitate the group. We will get into clinical reasoning and see assessment and intervention in action. You do not need any previous expereince of working with paeidatric dysphagia to join our case study groups. 

4th September 19.30-20.30: Neonatal

3rd October 19.30-20.30: Eating and Drinking at Risk

6th November 19.30-20.30: Fussy Eating

4th December 19.30-20.30: Having Difficult Conversations

Group numbers are limited so don't leave it too late to book! Individual sessions are £20 each or £60 for all four sessions (that's a £20 discount!)

This case study group is for any Speech Therapy students, NQPs, anyone new to dysphagia or those working in the field but needing a little boost in their confidence. 

Your Hosts:

Chelsea has worked within the field of paediatric dysphagia for 8 years across a range of settings including acute paediatric wards, community clinics and special schools. In addition to her work for Eat Chat Play, she overseas and manages the dysphagia provision for a large borough in Berkshire.

Savannah has worked in paediatric dysphagia for 9 years and has experience working across different countries including England, Wales, South Africa and Bangladesh. She has worked in various settings including community, schools, acute paediatric wards and neonatal units. She currently provides private feeding support at Learn to Feed alongside her NHS work. She is also a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

A certificate of attendance will be provided.
