If you have been to our parent coaching sessions or your child is currently in feeding therapy, you will know all about family meals and therapy meals. We've put together a list of all the things you will need for each.
Family Meals
Fun Sponges can be used when washing hands before family meals. This can help provide sensory preparation.
We have discussed that adequate seating is important during mealtimes. Our favourite chair is the Tripp Trapp chair.
Placemats should be used as a positive environmental cue. These should be a block colour. These are only used at family meals and not therapy meals.
A learning plate can be used if your child does not want certain foods on their plate. This should be a white plate.
A small bin or tupperwares may be helpful as part of your clean up routine.
Therapy Meals
Bubbles for sensory preparation
A bucket , soap and fun sponges for washing hands
A large bag for all the food
A small towel or face cloth
