Working Alongside Your Local Team

This part of Berkshire is within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and is served by Frimley Health hospitals including Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park in Slough. If your child is already known to an NHS team or a private paediatrician, we'll work alongside them and, with your consent, keep them updated.

Windsor Great Park and the lake at Virginia Water are perfect for family walks and picnics. Relaxed outdoor eating can be a lovely, low-pressure way for a child to explore food, and we often build those moments into therapy goals.

Feeding Therapy in East Berkshire: FAQs

Is there a private feeding therapist in East Berkshire who does home visits?
Yes. Learn to Feed offers private paediatric feeding therapy across East Berkshire, including Ascot and Windsor, with home visits, nursery and school visits, and online sessions. Our therapists are HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapists specialising in feeding and swallowing. An initial assessment is £310 in person or £250 online. Get in touch to book.
My baby coughs and splutters during bottle feeds. Could it be a swallowing problem?
It can be, and it's always worth checking. Signs to look out for include:
  • coughing or spluttering during feeds
  • a wet or gurgly voice or breathing
  • very long or stressful feeds
  • pulling away from the bottle
  • frequent chest infections
We assess your baby's feeding and look at positioning, pacing and the flow of the teat. If we're concerned about the swallow itself, we'll help you ask your GP or paediatrician about a further assessment, such as a videofluoroscopy.
Do you visit Ascot, Sunningdale and Sunninghill?
Yes. We offer home, nursery and school visits in Ascot, South Ascot, Sunninghill, Sunningdale and Cheapside (SL5), as well as online sessions.
Do you cover Windsor?
Yes. We visit families in Windsor and Old Windsor (SL4).
Do you cover Bracknell, Maidenhead or Wokingham?
A home or nursery visit may be possible depending on your exact location, and a travel fee may apply. Get in touch and we'll let you know. Online sessions are available everywhere.
Do you work with private paediatricians?
Yes. Many families we support are also seeing a private or NHS paediatrician, dietitian or gastroenterologist. With your consent, we'll share updates so everyone is working together.
